Anna-Marie Ball has been active in global health for more than 25 years. As an applied behavioural scientist, she has practiced in several sectors including: nutrition (especially through agriculture), water and sanitation (WASH) and reproductive health (HIV/AIDS). She provides a wealth of experience in research, design and implementation of intervention programs. She has led large multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams within research organizations (CGIAR), private sector, and NGOs. With experience in micronutrient malnutrition, Anna-Marie led the first research project proving that biofortification (micronutrients bred into crops) was successful for consumers and farmers. Through her advocacy at the African Union and nationally, many African countries included nutrition in their agricultural plans. Having lived in Africa (30+ years), US and UK, she has gained invaluable field experience and built networks globally, regionally and nationally. She holds a PhD in Community Health (University of Manitoba), Master in International Rural Planning and Development (University of Guelph).
