This project responded to a need expressed by rural Indian leaders concerning high levels of stigma towards HIV/AIDS in their communities. It developed a gender and culturally sensitive approach to engage rural communities in dialogue about HIV, building on Canadian and international expertise. Partnerships were formed between CSIH and other NGOs and research communities involved in HIV work globally, including people living with HIV and indigenous peoples.
