2022 Canadian Conference on Global Health

The 28th Canadian Conference on Global Health was held from November 21-23 2022 at the Hilton Toronto in downtown Toronto. Workshops and presentations focused on how to achieve Inclusive Global Health. The conference provided a platform to revisit and re-envision policies, strategies, and practices with the aim of identifying barriers and bottlenecks that may hinder the attainment of inclusive global health and Universal Health Coverage goals.

2021 Rethinking Partnership Paradigms in Global Health

The CCGH 2021 hybrid counted over 830 participants from more than 60 countries! CCGH 2021 was hosted in partnership with the University of Allied Sciences (UHAS) located in Ghana. This was CAGH's first collaboration with an international university to host its annual event. 

2019 HSR Pre-Congress in Canada

Held on October 16th at the Delta Hotel in Ottawa, the pre-congress welcomed 44 participants for a full day meeting of 14 oral presentations centered around health research in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The keynote address was delivered by Sir George Alleyne, Director Emeritus of the Pan American Health Organization who spoke about the main theme of Re-imagining health systems for better health and social justice.

2019 Governance for Global Health

The 25th Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH) held October 17-19, 2019 in Ottawa, examined the theme of governance for global health, acknowledging the importance of accountability and the influence of power and politics on health. Societies thrive when investments and public policies seek to improve health, and it's determinants.

2017 Leaving no one behind? Reflection for action in a changing world

On October 29-31, 2017, more than 500 people from more than 25 countries gathered in Ottawa, Canada for the 23rd Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH).  Practitioners, researchers, educators, students, policy makers and community mobilizers came to share their knowledge and experience and find new ways to work together.

HSR 2016 Resilient and responsive health systems for a changing world

Co-hosted by Health Systems Global and the Canadian Society for International Health, the Fourth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR) took place in Vancouver November 14-18, 2016. Like the societies of which they are a part, health systems face constant new challenges. They must maintain a focus on health improvement even as they absorb unexpected shocks, respond to emerging needs and take advantage  of new opportunities. At HSR2016 we will push the boundaries of health systems research in addressing  the challenges of our changing world. 

2015 Capacity Building for Global Health: Research & Practice

More than 660 participants from 43 countries gathered in Montreal from November 5-7, 2015 to explore the 22nd Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH) theme “Capacity-building for global health: research and practice.”  CCGH provided a forum for practitioners, researchers, educators, students, policy makers and community mobilizers interested in global health to share knowledge and experience and promote innovation and collaborative action.

2014 Partnerships for Global Health

CSIH hosted the 21st annual Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH) in Ottawa from Nov 2-4, 2014. As the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) come to an end in 2015, we need to take the time to celebrate the successes - as well as look to the future. The 2014 CCGH program reflects this changing landscape and the essential need for partnerships. The theme “Partnerships for Global Health” allowed participants to examine the MDGs and global health through the lens of partnership.
