Vivian is a physician at the University of British Columbia and is completing her Masters of Public Health concurrently through Harvard University. She is recognized as a National Schulich Scholar and TEDx speaker. She is the CEO and founder of a Canadian Charity, The HOPE Initiative Foundation, which works with youth across the country to gain competitive post-secondary admission and be supported in their post-secondary to career transitions. With the Faculty of Medicine, Vivian was the previous Co-Chair of the Medical Undergraduate Society's Political Development Committee and represented the University in advocating for improved youth mental health with the Minister of Health in BC. She held previous positions on the Senate of the University of British Columbia and Vancouver City Council's Children, Youth, and Families Advisory Committee, and is working on advocating for improvements to mental health resources for BC youth. Within psychiatry, Vivian is most interested in addiction and concurrent disorder. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Childhood Cannabinoid Clinical Trials - a $1.49M CIHR funded initiative to advance the largest paediatric dose finding study in Canada. Vivian also is the Chair of the Board of Qi Integrated Health, a private company in Vancouver that is on the forefront of psychedelic therapies. She is involved with research groups such as Roots to Thrive to advance the investigation of new pharmacotherapies.
