Amelia Peltz
About
Amelia Peltz is the Senior Gender Adviser in the Office of HIV/AIDS at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She has over 18 years of experience designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development and humanitarian assistance programs that promote gender equality and empower women and girls in the fields of health and HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, livelihoods, nutrition, and education throughout the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. She has worked for international donors and non-governmental organizations, consulted for the United Nations, served as a co-chair and technical adviser for international gender working groups, and has extensive experience providing technical assistance and training on gender and health and the prevention and response to gender-based violence. Amelia holds a Master of Arts in International Development from the American University in Washington DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.
