About

Angela Kaida is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University and holds a Canada Research Chair in Global Perspectives on HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health. Her global health research program aims to identify socio-structural vulnerabilities and protective factors associated with sexual and reproductive health outcomes among people living with and affected by HIV, and to contribute evidence of effective interventions to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights globally. Her most significant contributions to global health research include: 1) community-based research focused on pregnancy planning, safer conception support, and contraceptive choice for HIV-affected individuals and couples; 2) sex-positive sexual health research among women living with HIV; and 3) HIV prevention and sexual health promotion among adolescents and young adults. Angela is committed to the GIPA and MIWA principles (the Greater and Meaningful Involvement of Women living with HIV/AIDS).
