Ophira Ginsburg is an oncologist passionate about global cancer control and women's health equity. Over the past 14+ years in 10+ countries, she has developed a program of population intervention research, mentorship, and policy work, with projects in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Her current research is focused on public health interventions to improve access to breast and cervical cancer screening in low- and middle-income countries. From October 2015 – November 2016 Ophira worked as a Medical Officer in the Noncommunicable Diseases Management Unit at World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva. She continues to serve as an ad hoc consultant to UN agencies, providing technical assistance to countries on behalf of WHO, the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Programme of Action for Cancer Therapy (IAEA-PACT), and the UNFPA. Most recently she has been working with colleagues in Sudan, assisting the government in breast and cervical cancer prevention and control.
