Andrea Baumann is the Associate Vice-President (Global Health), McMaster University. In this role, she is the inaugural director of an award winning transdisciplinary model of graduate education that spans seven countries and catalyzes change to empower women and address health inequities. She is also the Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre in Primary Care and Health Human Resources. Andrea has a history of guiding large-scale initiatives that have had a significant impact on health systems and policy creation nationally and internationally. Projects include the development of women health professionals in Pakistan and Bangladesh. A recent project focusing on internationally educated nurses in Canada received the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration Inaugural Champion of Diversity Award. In recognition of her leadership, research and innovation, Dr. Baumann received the Order of Canada in July 2018.
