Michelle McIsaac, PhD, is an economist at the World Health Organization. She specializes in international health, labour and developmental economics with a focus on global health workforce issues. In WHO’s Health Workforce Department she is responsible for programs of work focusing on inequality in the global health workforce, notably those pertaining to geographic inequities and gender. Michelle has acted as a policy advisor to hospitals, and local, national and regional governments across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific and the Americas. Michelle co-chairs the Global Health Workforce Network’s Gender Equity Hub. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
