Dr. Shafi Bhuiyan PhD, MBBS, MPH, MBA, FRSPH is an internationally recognized academic and professional leader in global health training, research, and education, with diverse experience in developed and developing countries [Canada, Japan, Bangladesh and Thailand]. He is currently a faculty member at U of T’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health and Ryerson University’s Faculty of community services, as well as an outgoing Board chair of the CCGHR. Dr. Bhuiyan is a co-creator of a pilot MScCH program at U of T and a co-founder of the ITMDs bridging program at X University. He received an MBBS from Dhaka University, Bangladesh; an MPH from Mahidol University, Thailand; an MBA from TRSM Ryerson University, Canada; and a PhD in Global Human Sciences from Osaka University, Japan. 

Shafi's goals while serving on CAGH's Inaugural Board are to a) promote social justice to ensure equity of local & global healthcare systems; b) enhance health equity in diverse communities and c) foster collaborative partnerships to achieve global health development goals. Shafi is also a champion of partnerships, collaboration, capacity building and lifelong learning for global health security.
