Shelley-Rose Hyppolite has worked as a family doctor in remote areas of Quebec, specifically on First Nations reserves. She is currently a physician specializing in public health and preventive medicine. She is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval and a medical advisor with the Public Health Branch of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre of the Capitale-Nationale. For 20 years, she has been involved in Doctors of the World Canada as a volunteer physician and has been a member of Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Units since 2014. She has completed several emergency and development missions, particularly in Haiti. She also takes part in international health initiatives in connection with the university. As part of her public health, research and teaching activities in Quebec, she works on issues of social inequalities in health with participative approaches involving marginalized individuals.
