Maia Lesosky is an Associate Professor and Head of Division in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, School of Public Health & Family Medicine, University of Cape Town. She received her PhD from the University of Guelph in 2009 in statistics. In addition to extensive collaborative work in tuberculosis and other chronic lung health issues of concern in sub-Saharan Africa, Maia works on modelling of longitudinal biomarkers in chronic disease, such as HIV, to better understand the role routine monitoring plays in treatment efforts and impact on health systems.
