Bernice Yanful is a PhD student in Social and Behavioural Sciences at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on food security and school feeding programs in Ghana. Prior to starting her doctoral studies, she worked as a public health nurse at an Ontario public health unit in the areas of school health and health equity. She has worked on a range of international development and global health evaluations, including the Rockefeller Foundation’s Transforming Health Systems initiative and the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health. She has global health experience in Ecuador, Honduras, Tanzania and Guyana. She is also a graduate of the Master of Public Health program in health promotion at DLSPH and has concurrent undergraduate degrees in nursing and global development.
