About

Amy Baker was the Director General of Health and Nutrition at Global Affairs Canada.  As part of this role she oversees Canada's engagement on a variety of multilateral boards including the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria; Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; the Global Financing Facility Investors’ Group and Trust Fund Committee; Nutrition International; UNAIDS; the Stop TB Partnership; and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Ms. Baker also represents GAC on the Family Planning 2020 Reference Group, and as Sherpa to the Minister of International Development on the UN Secretary General's Every Woman Every Child High Level Steering Group. Ms. Baker's team at GAC manages the department's representational, policy and programming responsibilities related to health and nutrition, including sexual and reproductive health and rights.  Most recently, she was Senior Director and Head of Development Cooperation for Ethiopia and Pan Africa Regional Programs based in Ethiopia.
