Summary: 

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MoHSW) initiated a process to establish a quality assurance system, including a national accreditation program for health services with the objective of improving the quality of services over the long term. CSIH provided technical assistance to:

• develop a Concept Document on Quality Assurance and Accreditation;
• draft the Legislative Act on Accreditation and the supplementary norms and standards to implement the Legislative Act;
• develop a Plan for Establishing a Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency, and
• develop an Action Plan for implementation of the quality assurance and accreditation system.
